Abstract
Mobile health applications have become popular tools for assisting users with self-care. However, there is limited evidence regarding their quality. This study evaluates free health applications using the User Mobile App Rating Scale (uMARS) methodology. By comparing app characteristics with the expec- tations of typical users, the research identifies factors influencing the adoption and retention of these solutions. The results reveal significant variability in app quality, particularly in usability, credibility, and alignment with individual user needs. These findings underscore the need for better alignment between health apps and user demands.
